Attended the hot air balloon festival. Was very enjoyable - traffic becomes extremely congested so get there early.
Drove 70 miles to the park for a balloon festival. The area around the park is wholly unsuitable for pedestrians and vehicles, I would not be surprised if there have been serious injury to pedestrians. Locals must either be very patient or angry at the complete congestion.
Well kept and beautifully maintained park. Play area for the kids. Lovely Stream running through it. Miniature ride-along Steam trains. We went there to the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Great day out. Didn't get chance to look around the village but what we did see was pretty.
I came here for the hot-air balloon festival and had a fantastic day from start to finish. Free parking, free entry and some great entertainment makes the Strathaven balloon festival very hard to beat as a day out.
Living in Strathaven this is a regular place to go, especially when the grandkids visit, or doggy watching for family.Plenty for the kids to do with a couple of play areas for various ages, plus outdoor gym which seems to largely attract the kids too. There's also a boating pond, putting, bouncy castle and other things. Highlight for some on summer weekends is the miniature railway. For the adults there is a bowling green and tennis courts.Worth a visit for those from out of town too.
